CBS, citing multiple people with knowledge, reported the U.S. may have
intentionally failed to warn Ukraine this week of Russian missile strikes.
Ukrainian President Zelenskiy said Kyiv received no partner warning when Russia
launched a ballistic missile barrage on Kyiv and other sites early Tuesday.
Sources told Kyiv U.S. officials blamed detection systems failing because of
severe weather; Ukrainian officials reject that explanation and say the U.S. was
manipulating the system. Sources added that when Russia launched another wave
around 0300 local Wednesday, U.S. warning systems appeared to be functioning.
The report also says the U.S. earlier this year withheld ballistic launch
intelligence to shift resources to the Middle East. Asked whether the U.S. had
stopped sharing intelligence, President Trump said the U.S. had not and that it
was helping Ukraine and wants the war to end.
