Oct 14 — At a routine briefing the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council said Beijing has prioritized resolving Taiwan-related investment disputes and has issued laws, regulations and policies to build an institutional framework to protect the lawful rights and welfare of Taiwan residents and firms in the Chinese mainland. The office stressed equality before the law, warned no one has privileges above the law, and urged Taiwan individuals and companies to operate and defend their rights in accordance with mainland laws and regulations.
