On the 15th South Korean shares fell sharply and the KOSDAQ dropped over 8%,
triggering a level-1 circuit breaker at about 11:23:13 Beijing time. The Korea
Exchange halted trading for 20 minutes, suspended new order submissions while
allowing cancellations. KRX rule: a level-1 trigger occurs when KOSPI or KOSDAQ
falls 8%+ from the prior close and the move persists for one minute. This is the
first KOSDAQ level-1 trigger since July 29. Trading has been reinstated; the
market will run a 10-minute call auction and is due to fully reopen at about
11:53:13 Beijing time.
