Russia's central bank gold and foreign-exchange reserves stood at $723.5 bln in the week to Oct. 9, down from $733.2 bln a week earlier.

ING analyst Chris Turner said that despite US inflation on Wednesday exceeding expectations, mounting concerns about AI-sector debt burdens pushed the dollar and US Treasury yields to give back earlier gains. Turner said the dollar did not rally as a safe haven and weakened as markets scaled back expectations for further Fed hikes. Narrowing Swiss interest-rate differentials made the Swiss franc the main beneficiary. He added investors will closely watch the debt positions of major AI bond issuers; any further selloff could put additional pressure on the dollar.

At its 2026 interim briefing, Trina Solar said the PV industry is in the late phase of a U-shaped cycle. It expects seasonal demand and continued measures to curb excessive competition to lift module prices in H2 2026, narrowing losses in the module segment. The company said it will strive to return to profitability as soon as possible. Trina expects perovskite tandem cells to enter small-scale production in 2028–29 and reach GW-scale capacity in 2029, with rollout timed to market demand.
