The State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) approved and released the mandatory national standard Safety requirements for lithium‑ion batteries for electric motorcycles and electric light motorcycles, which will take effect on July 1, 2027. SAMR, jointly with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), updated the standard in response to rapid growth in China’s electric motorcycle sector and wider use of lithium‑ion batteries amid rising safety risks. The standard defines safety technical requirements and test methods for lithium‑ion batteries used on electric motorcycles and electric light motorcycles.

Shanghai Cyberspace Administration and Shanghai Data Bureau issued measures to facilitate cross-border data flows to support higher-level opening, prioritizing cross-border data application scenarios for key industries. The policy adopts a scenario-driven approach to pilot data circulation and reuse mechanisms, focusing on enterprise global R&D, manufacturing and supply-chain collaboration, cross-border financial risk control, and biopharma R&D. It calls for classified guidance on industry-chain coordination projects and key industry applications, permits enterprises to run controlled pilots to develop scenario-based cross-border data solutions and promote replication of mature practices, and proposes pilot programs for anonymized personal-data use in finance, trade and healthcare.
