The Bank of Italy raised its 2026 growth forecast and said its outlook now matches the Meloni government. In its latest economic bulletin the central bank cited a smaller-than-expected hit from the Middle East crisis in H1, stronger-than-anticipated investment tied to digitalisation and the energy transition, and resilient summer tourism. It now expects working-day-adjusted GDP to expand 0.9% in 2026 (up from 0.5% in June); unadjusted growth could reach 1%, in line with the government's forecast. Planned defence and energy spending will support activity. Growth is projected at 0.7% in 2027 and 0.8% in 2028.

As of September, the Shanghai Stock Exchange had 1,124 listed funds with total market value 3.5 tln yuan. Jan–Sep turnover in listed funds reached 65.4 tln yuan. ETF turnover and market-cap rank first and third in Asia, respectively, and ETFs are cited as core holdings for long-term allocations. The SSE is actively promoting launches of actively managed ETFs to expand transparent, low-cost, strategy-flexible products. The exchange has published or revised 180 indices year-to-date to support long-term fund inflows.
