Xi Jinping, during a visit to Ulanqab, Inner Mongolia on Oct. 16, said the
computing-power network is one of the state’s planned “six national networks”
and that the computing-power industry is in an acceleration phase with broad
prospects. He called for strict implementation of efficiency, green and safety
standards, emphasised compute–power and compute–water coordination, and urged
effective construction and operation of computing centres. Xi directed promotion
of a green computing-power industry to support Digital China and new productive
forces, and told high-tech zones to strengthen party leadership and improve
public services and factor support to create a favourable environment for firms
and talent.
