Anthropic co-founder Jack Clark said an internal company economic model projects AI could raise US economic output to about $44 trillion by 2030, from just over $30 trillion today. Speaking at the IMF and World Bank annual meetings in Bangkok, Clark said the estimate "sounds outlandish" but argued rapid AI-driven acceleration in scientific discovery could produce such growth. He urged international cooperation to create "special and strict rules" for the technology.

On Oct. 16, Changan Auto's newly appointed chairman Zhao Fei told reporters China's domestic car market has weakened and entered a winner-takes-most shakeout, with some rivals adopting irrational pricing and product strategies that could skew market rules and sustainability. He said Changan will concentrate on overseas development and believes the company may be stronger than some foreign peers in new-energy vehicles and vehicle intelligence, preserving its competitive edge.
