Iranian foreign minister Araghchi met Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan on
Saturday in Baghdad during an OIC meeting to discuss developments in the Persian
Gulf, the Strait of Hormuz and wider regional tensions. They discussed bilateral
ties and the situations in Gaza and Yemen, both emphasized the importance of
diplomatic de-escalation; Araghchi briefed Fidan on recent Persian Gulf/Hormuz
developments and related diplomatic moves and urged OIC members to act to stop
what he called Israeli genocide and to jointly address Islamophobia.
