Woodside Energy Group said pre-commissioning at its Scarborough offshore gas
project in Western Australia remains suspended after Greenpeace protesters
boarded the platform. The company said the incident prompted substantial
response measures that could incur material costs and said it supports
authorities enforcing the law. Greenpeace said protesters stayed overnight, with
two erecting hanging tents on the platform and two returning to their vessel,
and reiterated that the project threatens marine ecosystems and would raise
greenhouse gas emissions.
