Ukrainian President Zelenskiy said Russian strikes on the night of the 17th hit
substations in Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi and Odesa, cutting power to
tens of thousands of households; two people were killed and 12 wounded in the
air raids. Zelenskiy said that since US President Trump declared an "energy
ceasefire" a week ago, Russia has carried out 76 attacks on Ukrainian power, oil
and gas facilities and, over the past week, launched about 2,700 attack drones,
more than 1,700 aerial bombs and 66 missiles, with air strikes mainly targeting
energy infrastructure. Ukrainian officials and energy firms reported emergency
blackouts in Kyiv city and region, Odesa and Ternopil between the night of the
17th and early 18th.
