Japanese automaker Subaru plans to launch software-defined vehicles (SDVs) in the late 2020s and aims to cut vehicle development cycles by about 40% to accelerate model rollout. The company will deploy newly developed integrated electronic control units (ECUs) across its lineup and intends to shorten development by using digital simulation in prototypes and running design, testing and production preparation in parallel.
