President Sisi chaired a defense committee meeting that reviewed regional developments and what it called escalating, unacceptable attacks against Saudi Arabia. The committee said Saudi national security is closely linked to the security of Egypt and other Arab states; Egypt will stand in full solidarity and provide all necessary and possible support to defend Saudi security, stability, resources and territorial integrity. Egypt also pledged to continue and strengthen political and diplomatic coordination with relevant regional and international parties to promote de‑escalation and a peaceful resolution of the crisis.

WTI crude and Brent crude opened about 0.4% lower on Monday, trading at $98.54/bbl and $106.93/bbl respectively.
