CIBC economist Andrew Grantham said September inflation in Canada rose to 3.1%
driven by higher energy. Excluding gasoline, inflation rose 2.2%, close to the
BOC’s 2% target, and the Bank’s preferred core measures slowed in September.
Traders had priced in a rate hike next week, but Grantham said the September
data suggests there is "no need to rush."
