LAVROV said the Middle East must return to its pre-crisis state, including freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.

The Washington Post reported Monday that the Trump administration has not approved transfers of "Patriot" interceptor missiles to Ukraine for defense against Russian missiles and drones. At least some interceptors were to be supplied by U.S.-friendly countries but require approval by U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth because the munitions are U.S.-made and subject to retransfer rules, leaving final authority with the U.S. A Ukrainian official said Kyiv’s interceptor inventory has fallen to only a handful. Officials said Hegseth has not formally rejected transfer requests but has not completed required approvals; he continues to sign off on some U.S. aid to Ukraine. The report noted Trump has recently adopted a more Russia-friendly stance and increased criticism of Ukraine.
