Anglo American said on Tuesday third-quarter copper production fell 5% YoY to
174,900 tonnes, citing record snowfall in Chile and subsequent maintenance, and
the processing of lower-grade stockpiles at the Collahuasi mine in northern
Chile. The group said unit cost guidance for its Peruvian copper operations
improved to about $0.50/lb from roughly $0.65/lb. CEO Duncan Wanblad said
operations remained resilient despite extreme winter weather and that expected
higher ore grades in Q4 support delivery of 2026 guidance. Anglo said its
copper-focused merger with Vancouver-based Teck Resources remains on track to
complete before March 2027.
