Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index (HSI) closed down 319.09 points (-1.32%) at 23,867.74 on Oct 20 (Tue). The Hang Seng TECH Index fell 62.33 points (-1.52%) to 4,045.91. The H-share (Hang Seng China Enterprises) Index dropped 97.99 points (-1.21%) to 8,030.26, and the Red Chip Index slipped 66.05 points (-1.63%) to 3,991.45.

China A-share indices opened lower, rallied then pulled back. At midday the Shanghai Composite was down 0.08%, the Shenzhen Composite was up 0.18% and the ChiNext was up 0.27%. Turnover across Shanghai and Shenzhen was 933.5 billion yuan, down 37.2 billion yuan from the prior session. More than 3,900 stocks were higher. The robotics sector remained active with over ten stocks hitting daily limit-up and Unitree Robotics extending gains for a third session. Consumer electronics and CRO names rallied with multiple limit-ups. Food & beverage saw an intraday surge, including an Anji Food limit-up. CSSC-linked shipbuilding names lagged. Dye stocks corrected, some down over 12%. Defense-restructuring plays, banks and insurers were weaker.
