Micron Technology (MU.O) will fund Yintai’s expansion in Rome, New York,
restoring domestic processing capacity for critical minerals used in
semiconductor manufacturing. The companies will sign a long-term supply
agreement for high‑purity mineral feedstock to cut reliance on globally
concentrated refining capacity. The investment is part of Micron’s July plan to
invest up to $3 bln in the US semiconductor supply chain and supports its pledge
to spend more than $250 bln on US wafer manufacturing and technology through
2035.
