On Oct. 19 the US Department of Homeland Security announced a ban on US federal
civilian agencies procuring products and services developed by Chinese AI firm
Shendu Qiusuo and its affiliates, and ordered related products and services
removed from affected agencies' information systems. A Ministry of Commerce
(MOFCOM) spokesperson urged Washington to respect facts and market rules,
immediately correct the measures, stop unreasonable suppression of Chinese firms
and withdraw discriminatory restrictions, and called on both sides to implement
leaders' consensus, use the China‑US AI dialogue to rebuild trust, manage
differences and jointly promote responsible AI.
