At the 02:30 close, SHFE main gold contract fell 0.31% to 890 yuan/gram; SHFE main silver contract rose 1.54% to 14,075 yuan/kg; SC (Shanghai crude) main contract fell 4.47% to 695 yuan/barrel.

Cheng Hehong, chief lawyer and head of the CSRC Legal Department, said at the 2026 Financial Street Forum that the CSRC is conducting an implementation review of the Securities Law and advancing revisions to the Securities Investment Fund Law. He noted revisions to the Financial Stability Law, PBOC Law, Commercial Bank Law and Banking Supervision Law are already on the National People’s Congress legislative agenda. Based on an in-depth evaluation and given material changes in markets since the Securities Law’s 2019 amendment, the CSRC will study including a Securities Law amendment in the next NPC legislative plan.

CHINA's foreign ministry said on Oct. 20 the International Mediation Institute, one year after its launch, has grown to 48 founding member states and has successfully mediated international commercial disputes, winning strong recognition from disputing parties. The institute is positioned as a platform for peaceful resolution of cross-border commercial disputes.
