The 33rd APEC finance ministers' meeting took place in Hong Kong SAR on Oct.
20-21, 2026. China chaired the meeting and Vice Minister Liao Min spoke for the
Chinese delegation. Delegates warned that overlapping global uncertainties and
spillovers from geopolitical conflicts are weighing on world growth, and urged
implementation of APEC leaders' informal summit conclusions, multilateralism,
stronger macro-policy coordination and deeper fiscal-financial cooperation to
support regional economic and financial stability. China said its economy is
transitioning toward new, higher-quality growth and reaffirmed it will
unswervingly pursue high-quality development, accelerate new growth drivers,
expand domestic demand and continue high-level opening to provide new
opportunities for the Asia-Pacific and the world.
