China’s National Healthcare Security Administration said on Oct 21 that Jan–Sep
2026 pooled basic medical insurance funds (including maternity) recorded revenue
of 2.303 trillion yuan and expenditure of 1.752 trillion yuan, leaving a 551.3
billion yuan surplus. Employee pooled fund revenue was 1.447 trillion yuan and
urban‑rural residents’ pooled revenue was 855.5 billion yuan. Through September,
employee pooled fund expenditure was 1.004 trillion yuan, including 101.0
billion yuan in maternity benefits; urban‑rural residents’ pooled expenditure
was 747.1 billion yuan.
