The State Administration for Market Regulation convened a Beijing forum urging online platforms to fulfil 'gatekeeper' responsibilities, strengthen full‑chain quality management in line with the Guiding Opinions and the 2026 task list, and tighten accountability across quality control. Regulators asked platforms to proactively align with supervisory priorities, deepen collaborative governance, and use platform data to lift upstream supplier and supply‑chain quality and to accelerate product iteration. The meeting urged stronger consumer protections, greater information transparency and more robust after‑sales support, and said regulators will explore publishing a platform quality governance index to guide higher‑quality consumption. Representatives from JD.com, Taobao/Tmall, Pinduoduo, Xiaohongshu, Kuaishou, Douyin, Dmall, Vipshop and Dewu attended and spoke.
