Mehr News Agency quoted Seyyedi, secretary of Iran's parliament National
Security and Foreign Policy Committee, saying the United States must be held
responsible for imposing a maritime blockade on Iran. He accused the US, since
the outbreak of the war, of launching attacks, assassinating Iran’s late supreme
leader, using unconventional weapons, bombing civilian sites including
residences, stadiums, nurseries and schools, and striking infrastructure —
actions he said violate international law and amount to war crimes. Seyyedi said
the blockade is intended to pressure the Iranian population and urged Iran to
pursue US accountability under international law.
