At the 2026 Financial Street Forum fintech conference, National Financial Regulatory Administration deputy head Xiao Yuanqi said AI+finance is a systemic change across strategy, business models, organization and culture, not just a technical overlay, and urged financial firms to strengthen in‑house R&D and shore up data, model and engineering capabilities. He called for industry–finance ecosystem building, interbank cooperation and international collaboration on governance, and said AI financial applications must adopt full‑lifecycle governance with human‑in‑the‑loop controls, 'AI for good' principles, data and network security and business‑continuity safeguards while regulators accelerate digital, intelligent supervision.
