On Oct 21, the U.S. Treasury announced a new round of sanctions as part of an
"economic isolation" campaign, targeting law firms based in Panama and Greece
that it said supported Iran's illicit shipping and indirectly helped Tehran
generate revenue to fund its military, weapons and nuclear programs. The action
also sanctions shipping agents in Singapore and the UAE accused of directly
assisting Iran's "shadow fleet", and targets a group of cargo vessels used to
generate revenue for Iran.
