On the 21st the U.S. mission in Saudi Arabia issued a security alert saying
Houthi forces have continued attacks on Saudi civilian airports and other
critical infrastructure, causing civilian casualties and major travel
disruption; the mission warned these hostile actions could rapidly escalate and
spread. U.S. citizens were advised to follow nationwide mobile alerts issued by
Saudi civil defense. U.S. government personnel in Saudi must obtain special
authorization from the mission chief before using any Saudi airport. The mission
highlighted risks of airport strikes, airspace closures, flight cancellations
and travel disruption and urged extreme caution for anyone using Saudi airports.
