EU negotiators reached a provisional agreement to overhaul securitization rules.
The framework is expected to unlock tens of billions of euros to fund projects
in strategic sectors by lowering capital requirements for banks’ low‑risk
securitizations and cutting administrative burdens, allowing banks to free
capital for lending to households, corporates and infrastructure. The measure is
part of the EU Savings and Investment Union plan to channel financial assets to
key industries and support growth.
