The US State Department said reports that it planned to order evacuations of some Gulf embassy staff were inaccurate. An evacuation directive applies only to non-emergency US government employees and their families in Saudi Arabia. The department said protecting the safety and security of its personnel and families remains a top priority and it will take all necessary measures to protect and support them.
