Nikkei reports the Bank of Japan plans to hold the policy rate at 1.25% at its Oct. 29-30 meeting, pausing after September’s increase to assess its effects. The BOJ is expected to say core inflation excluding temporary factors has effectively reached the 2% target, but will focus on preventing inflation from rising further above 2% and keeping it stable while seeking an appropriate timing for any additional hikes. A majority of the nine policy board members are expected to vote to keep the rate unchanged.

Google Cloud is rolling out updated serverless base images for all supported PHP versions and is urging customers to upgrade immediately to PHP 8.2 or later and redeploy services using the patched images.
