SK Hynix has abandoned plans to list Solidigm in the United States after strong
shareholder opposition and regulatory scrutiny over potential harm to minority
shareholders, the company said in a regulatory filing on Friday. SK Hynix also
suspended the pre-IPO investment-introduction process that had been proceeding
alongside the listing. Solidigm, the group’s flash-memory unit, had appointed
Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley as joint lead underwriters and targeted a
potential US offering next year; South Korean regulators flagged risks of a
duplicate listing and dilution of existing shareholders, prompting the reversal.
