Kalshi plans to launch exchange-traded futures tied to US CPI and a core
inflation gauge in December, marketing the contracts to global banks and hedge
funds. The New York–headquartered prediction-market firm has hired former
Barclays trader Michael Ashton to design the products; the contracts would be
the only futures directly linked to CPI, a potential draw for macro investors.
CME Group and ICE already dominate interest-rate and government-bond futures
markets (market size in the tlns); CME previously tried CPI futures but
currently offers none.
