Oct. 22, Haikou — Authorities called for a comprehensive upgrade to Hainan Free
Trade Port’s energy and power capacity. They directed: build a diversified
supply-security system, appropriately ahead of demand, push key power projects
to on‑schedule commissioning, accelerate construction of major energy corridors
and strengthen new‑energy development and utilization. Accelerate construction
of a new provincial power grid to boost system resilience, improve grid
architecture and system regulation, and speed deployment of new grid
technologies and operating models. Raise supply capability and service standards
to create a modern electricity business environment, accelerate grid equipment
upgrades and lean O&M, and coordinate government and enterprises to improve
power quality and continuous supply services.
