At the start of the 2026 midterm cycle Republicans viewed the Senate map as an advantage, but momentum has shifted. With under two weeks until Election Day on Nov. 3, Trump is campaigning in South Carolina, Mississippi and other GOP strongholds as Republican groups pour money into deep-red states including Texas; party operatives have effectively abandoned contests in Georgia and North Carolina. Republicans say their Senate “red line” rests on Iowa, Ohio and Alaska — states Trump won by double digits two years ago — but polls and early voting show momentum tilting to Democrats. Democrats need a net gain of four seats to take control; Democratic strategist David Axelrod said a strong wave could lift Democrats to 53–54 seats, while a weaker wave might leave them short of 51.

On Oct. 23 Shaanxi Nonferrous Metals Group and Zhongfu Shenying held talks; Shaanxi’s carbon‑ceramic composites unit signed a cooperation agreement with Zhongfu Shenying to collaborate on product R&D, application development and market expansion. The parties said they will use technical collaboration to accelerate product iteration and scenario development to promote industrial-scale application of carbon‑ceramic composites.
