Business Insider reported Microsoft CHRO Amy Coleman said in a Monday memo the
company is offering a voluntary exit package to reduce headcount without forced
layoffs. The move follows earlier cuts as Microsoft ramped investment in AI
infrastructure; the company will gauge whether voluntary departures can further
lower costs. A Microsoft spokesperson said roughly 60,000 employees are eligible
and terms will be similar to the firm’s standard severance package.
