UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham said on Monday there will be no election in the near term and that his immediate priority is governing. When asked when voters could endorse his plan to deepen UK-EU ties or see a manifesto outlining a bid to rejoin the EU, Burnham said he was not considering an election now. "There will be no election in the near term. People should put that thought completely out of their minds," he added, saying the UK is regaining momentum and that improving relations with Europe is part of clarifying the country's direction.
