Turkey Energy Minister Bayraktar said on Tuesday the country could reach
acquisition or oil-and-gas exploration agreements before year-end to help lift
output toward a 1.0 mln barrels oil equivalent per day target. Current capacity
is about 300k boe/d; existing plans aim for 550–600k boe/d by 2028. Bayraktar
said achieving 1.0 mln boe/d would require more than a threefold increase from
current output and that the 2028 plan remains far short. He said Turkey is
targeting overseas opportunities, including in Africa and Lebanon, and is
exploring power trade with Lebanon alongside potential local oil-and-gas
exploration.
