On Oct. 27 local time US Southern Command said its Western Hemisphere Joint Task
Force struck a "speedboat operating on an established trafficking route" in the
eastern Pacific, killing five "drug terrorists". Since early Sept. 2025 the US
has conducted multiple strikes in the Caribbean and eastern Pacific against
US-claimed, so-called "drug trafficking boats", but has not released evidence
linking targets to narcotics.
