On the 27th Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney signed a Comprehensive Economic
Partnership Agreement with visiting Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Khalid to remove
trade barriers and boost investment. The pact would cut or eliminate tariffs on
more than 99% of current Canadian exports to the UAE once fully implemented,
tackle non-tariff barriers, and expand predictable market access for goods and
services across industrial, agricultural, forestry, fisheries/seafood,
environmental and engineering sectors. The agreement is expected to enter into
force in 2027, according to a press release on the prime minister’s official
website.
