Oct 28 — China’s Foreign Ministry said it welcomes Swiss Federal President Guy
Parmelin’s visit and that President Xi Jinping will meet him. The ministry noted
this year marks the 10th anniversary of the China–Switzerland strategic
partnership on innovation and described bilateral ties as developing well, with
free‑trade cooperation the standout area. It highlighted that Switzerland was
the first continental European country to sign an FTA with China, which has
supported bilateral trade since coming into force more than a decade ago, and
said China is prepared to work with Switzerland to expand business‑friendly
measures and add certainty to global economic growth.
