The declaration underscores natural gas as an important energy source and strategic feedstock and describes member states as reliable suppliers contributing to global energy security. It expresses deep concern that geopolitical developments are harming the stability, security and sustainability of global gas markets and firmly opposes unilateral sanctions not authorized by the UN.
