WTI crude stood above $102/bbl, up 2.51% intraday. Brent crude gained nearly 2%.

Oct 28 — China's Taiwan Affairs Office said Taipei's defense ministry has budgeted just over NT$80 mln to invite US personnel to observe the Han Kuang exercises this year and next. Spokesperson Chen Binhua said the Taiwan issue is China's internal affair and does not tolerate foreign interference, adding that the DPP's attempt to "use force to seek independence" or to "rely on outsiders to seek independence" is a miscalculation and "a dead end."

The Baltic Dry Index fell 25 points, or 0.94%, to 2,603, its lowest level since Oct. 20. The Baltic Capesize Index (BCI) declined 24 points, or 0.64%, to 3,702, a near one-week low; Capesize average daily earnings decreased $220 to $30,072. The Baltic Panamax Index (BPI) fell 54 points, or 2.6%, to 2,021, the lowest since July 29; Panamax daily earnings dropped $479 to $18,193. The Baltic Supramax Index (BSI) eased 5 points, or 0.26%, to 1,883. The Baltic Handysize Index (BHSI) was unchanged at 1,020.
