Fed Chair Kevin Warsh said recent Fed discussions have been “mainly focused on
price stability within our remit.” He described progress toward the Fed’s
full-employment goal as “quite positive,” noting the unemployment rate is down
year-on-year and the four-week average of initial jobless claims is at
generational lows. Warsh said economic growth has strengthened, with 1H GDP
revised up from 1.8% to 2.4% and Q3 appearing to run faster.
