FWDBONDS chief economist Chris Rupkey said Fed governor Cook's rare dissent on
the rate decision could reflect displeasure with the Trump administration's
legal action. Rupkey said: "Fed governors rarely vote against decisions — after
all, they work in the same building as the chair. This vote may be a protest,
because the Trump administration is taking steps trying in some way to force
Cook to resign."
