Intel (INTC.O) guided Q4 revenue at $15–16bn vs analysts' average ~$17bn (some
>$18bn) and forecast adjusted EPS of $0.25 vs Street $0.43. Management cited a
sharp drop in PC-processor demand and difficulty capturing rapid demand for
high-margin data-center components. OEM laptop and desktop makers are being hit
by memory shortages and surging component costs; management said rising memory
prices are a major challenge likely to persist through 2027. Intel now expects
the PC market downturn to last at least into 1H 2027, projecting a 12% decline
in 2026 followed by a further ~10% drop next year. Shares fell about 22% in
after-hours trading.
