After Germany reintroduced the temporary fuel tax cut enacted earlier this year,
October CPI rose 2.8% YoY, down from 3.3% in September and below the market
median of 3.1%. Germany's October inflation increase was smaller than in France,
Italy and Spain. The release precedes inflation reports covering 21 euro-area
members; economists expect euro-area inflation to rise to 3.9%, roughly twice
the ECB's 2% target.
