The National Energy Administration and other departments issued guidance aiming
for significantly strengthened domestic gas-turbine innovation by 2030. Targets
include whole-machine and key-component R&D and manufacturing capability, rising
performance and reliability, and progress on digitalization, greening and
integration. The plan calls for building a self-reliant end-to-end
R&D–manufacturing–testing–maintenance industrial chain to basically meet
domestic demand for gas turbines used in distributed energy, offshore oil and
gas platforms and long-distance pipeline compressors, and for heavy gas-turbine
power-generation pilot projects to deliver phased results.
