Beijing Hyundai general manager Li Fenggang will formally step down on Nov 1,
roughly one year after he took the role on Nov 10, 2025. Sources say his exit
reflects strategic splits between the JV's 50:50 Chinese and Korean shareholders
over development direction. Over the past year the partners failed to agree on
core issues including operating targets and the scale of cost cuts, stalling
localization reforms; Li, the JV's first Chinese national GM, was at the center
of the dispute.
