CPCA's Cui Dongshu said China-to-EU auto exports reached 1.83 mln units in the
first nine months of 2026, already surpassing last year's full-year total;
September shipments rose 128% YoY and cumulative exports were up 87%. Exports
show both rapid scale expansion and sharp mix polarization: PHEV shipments
surged 372% in 2026 and became the main growth driver; BEV exports nearly
doubled despite high EU tariffs; HEV rose 91% as a stable base. Manufacturer
concentration is increasing — BYD's lead widened markedly while Geely, Chery and
Leapmotor posted rapid gains — underscoring the accelerating global rise of
China's auto industry.
