South Korea's October exports rose 93.7% YoY (76.1% working-day adjusted) to
$115.3bn, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy said. Adjusted exports were
below September's record $121.1bn. Imports rose 36%, producing a $42.5bn trade
surplus. September export growth was revised to +83.7% YoY. Semiconductor
exports jumped 259% YoY to $56.4bn; computer exports +497%; petroleum products
+80%; autos +18%. The ministry said AI-driven demand is sustaining export
strength. Strong exports have further reinforced market expectations for a Bank
of Korea rate hike this month.
